The Opportunity:
Together we can do great things. Be part of something bigger.
Join the University of Edinburgh and you’ll be making a difference to everything around you. Be part of something bigger – where you’ll do meaningful work, grow and progress, be rewarded and recognised, and benefit from our strong commitment to your wellbeing. There are so many reasons to join us.
The University of Edinburgh is a world-class organisation. We look for the best in the field across all disciplines and provide a working environment where academics can develop their careers and passion for their chosen subject area. We offer the full range of academic roles and have a genuine focus on our students performance and wellbeing.
We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Research Fellow to join the Sexual and Reproductive Health Group at the Centre for Reproductive Health. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major global health research programme focused on improving sexual health in pregnancy in Africa.
The post is funded through an NIHR Global Health Research Professorship and will be primarily based in Botswana, working in close collaboration with the Botswana Sexual and Reproductive Health Initiative of the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership, as well as partners at the University of Edinburgh and international collaborators.
The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering the HERA Study, a large randomised trial evaluating antenatal screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections and the impact of screening and treatment on preterm birth and maternal and neonatal outcomes.
This role offers a rare opportunity to participate in clinical research leadership, trial coordination, and advanced epidemiological analysis in a high-impact global health programme. The postholder will contribute to generating policy-relevant evidence to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in low- and middle-income settings.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced clinician-researcher with a strong background in sexual and reproductive health, infectious diseases, and/or maternal health, and experience working in international or resource-limited settings.
People have always been at the heart of our work. As part of the University, you are a part of our community. We are looking for people with drive, determination, and a passion for what they do. We are a place where everyone is welcome and offer a range of policies and benefits designed to support you in building the right meaningful/personalised flexibility for you.
