Assistant Accountant Job at North London, London Full Time

Our client is a well-established accountancy practice based in North London, providing a comprehensive range of accounting, tax, and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team in a role that offers an excellent benefits package, including private medical insurance, a pension scheme and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple client accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain bookkeeping records including double-entry bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledger processing, and posting journal entries
• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and financial reports for a varied client portfolio
• Process invoices, payments, and monitor accounts receivable and payable functions
• Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider accounting team

Key Requirements:

• 4+ year’s experience in an accounting role within an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero)
• Accounting or bookkeeping qualifications (e.g. AAT, ACCA foundation)
