Rent and Service Charge Manager

Based in Kent, Hybrid (3 days on-site)

6-month FTC – opportunity to go permanent

£50,000 – £55,000

We are seeking a proactive Rent and Service Charge Manager to lead on the effective management and delivery of rent setting and service charge processes. The successful Rent and Service Charge Manager will ensure charges are accurate, transparent, and compliant with regulatory requirements, while delivering value for money.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the rents function, providing day-to-day oversight, guidance, and subject matter expertise
• Lead, develop, and mentor a small team, including responsibility for training and recruitment
• Maintain accurate rent accounts, including rent debits, adjustments, reconciliations, and income monitoring
• Oversee rent and service charge increases annually, ensuring compliance and timely tenant communication
• Produce monthly and year-end financial reports, including arrears, income performance, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with housing regulations and accounting standards, supporting internal and external audits
• Maintain financial systems and controls, improving data accuracy and working closely with internal teams and stakeholders

Skills and abilities:

• Experience of calculating and monitoring service charges and rent processes
• Experience working within a Housing Association
• Extensive experience in a rent’s role
• Part-qualified accountant
