Working as a key member of the engineering team, you will operate as a standalone shift engineer, ensuring the smooth running of all production machinery and equipment during night operations.
Job Overview Acting as a standalone shift engineer within the factory environment Carrying out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of food production machinery Proactively identifying potential issues and implementing preventative maintenance to reduce downtime Responding efficiently to breakdowns and technical issues during production hours Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Supporting production teams to ensure minimal disruption and optimal output Monitoring machinery performance to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards Maintaining accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports Working in line with food safety, health & safety, and site regulations Ensuring all contractors adhere to site rules and safety standards Job Requirements Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or food production environment Multiskilled engineer with a mechanical bias
– Preferred Strong working knowledge of production machinery including conveyors, mixers, fillers, and packaging equipment Ability to fault find across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally High attention to detail with a proactive and reliability-focused approach Salary & Benefits Salary: £53,000 overtime available Overtime paid at enhanced rates (x1.25 weekdays, xwwtmva x1.5 Saturdays, x2 Sundays) Working hours: 6pm
– 6am.
