Description
Finance Data Analyst responsibilities:
- Examine financial data to uncover trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
- Produce consistent finance and performance reports
- Support the creation of KPI and performance reporting packs
- Evaluate revenue streams, cost structures, and key business drivers
- Develop and maintain detailed reports to support strategic decision-making
- Assist in building financial models to forecast future outcomes
- Derive clear, actionable insights from large datasets
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and AI-driven solutions
- Present financial insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Profile
A successful Finance Data Analyst should have:
- Strong academic background in accounting, finance, data science, or a related discipline
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and structured reporting; experience with Power BI is advantageous but not essential
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting using spreadsheets and database tools
- Experienced in managing and interpreting large datasets
- Sound understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Effective communicator, able to present insights clearly to a range of audiences
