IT & Office Support Technician Job at Manchester Full Time NEW

About the Role

This is a hybrid role combining first-line IT support with workplace and office support duties. You will be an on‑site point of contact for IT-related issues, working closely with the IT Systems Lead and external support partners, while also helping keep the office running smoothly.

The role would suit someone with solid IT fundamentals who enjoys supporting people, wants variety in their day, and is keen to develop their IT skills over time.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support (Primary Focus)

• Provide first-line desktop and user support for hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Support users with internal systems including matter management, task management and information systems, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Log, track and manage support requests, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
• Prepare laptops, phones and equipment for new starters and support onboarding.
• Assist with leaver processes, including account closure and equipment return.

Digital & Systems Support

• Assist with basic reporting and data checks when requested.
• Upload and update website content under instruction.
• Provide practical support on digital and IT-related projects.

Office & Workplace Support

• Assist with meeting room and AV setup, including board and executive meetings.
• Liaise with suppliers and building management for routine matters.
• Help monitor office supplies and provide light administrative support to legal and finance teams as required.

About You

Essential

• Experience working in an office or administrative environment.
• Confident using Microsoft 365 applications.
• Comfortable using IT equipment and supporting colleagues with routine technical issues (e.g. logins, printers, basic software problems).
• Well organised, with good communication skills and a helpful, patient approach.
• Able to follow procedures and know when to escalate issues.

Desirable

• Previous experience in an IT support, service desk or desktop support role.
• Experience setting up devices or user accounts.
• Awareness of Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience updating website content or using digital systems/databases.
