Full Time, 12 Months fixed term contract
Join us and be part of a vibrant community at Loughborough University.
Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:
This position supports project funded by the EPSRC ‘Emerge’ Place Based Impact Accelerator Account. The project involves developing and refining a smartphone app to assess and monitor breathing patterns. This will support improved rehabilitation outcomes for patients with Breathing Pattern Disorder (BPD), a common but under-diagnosed cause of breathlessness. BPD is associated with frightening symptoms, so this project has the potential to transform rehabilitation outcomes and quality of life outcomes for patients.
The role will involve app development for a mobile device to monitor and classify breathing patterns from video data. You will be working alongside the project team to incorporate stakeholder feedback and move the product along the regulatory pathway. Occasional travel will be involved to support meetings with stakeholders and to undertake system testing in clinical environments.
About You
To be successful in this role we are looking for candidates with the following key experience and skills.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Sam Winter, Principal Investigator, via email to S.L.Winter@lboro.ac.uk
For more information refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.
Closing Date: 22 June 2026
