Generator Engineer

Alecto Recruitment are working with a well-established power generation company who are seeking a Generator Engineer to support the servicing, maintenance, and installation of generator systems across customer sites, ensuring reliable performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and installation of generator systems and control equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on generators and associated systems.
• Work on control panels and switchgear, ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely.
• Conduct load bank testing and support upgrades to control systems.
• Deliver high-quality work on customer sites while maintaining professional standards.
• Ensure compliance with HSQE standards, company procedures, and legislation.
• Manage spare parts, stock control, and complete all required documentation and records.
• Participate in on-call rota and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.

Skills & Requirements

• Time-served Generator Engineer.
• Experience fault finding on generator control panels and switchgear.
• Competent in portable load bank testing.
• Familiar with Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers and control system upgrades.
• Proven fault finding and diagnostic ability.
• Full UK driving licence and basic IT skills required.
