Senior Audit Associate
Kent | £45,000 – £58,000 + Hybrid Working + Fast-Track Progression
Approaching qualification and wondering what comes next?
Whether you’re recently ACA or ACCA qualified, or in the final stages of your studies with strong audit experience behind you, this is an opportunity to accelerate your career within a highly respected and growing accountancy firm.
We’re working with a leading national practice that continues to attract ambitious businesses, listed entities and entrepreneurial owner-managed companies. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a Senior Audit Associate to join their thriving Audit team.
This is the ideal move for an ambitious auditor who wants greater exposure, more responsibility, stronger client relationships and a genuine route into management.
You’ll work directly alongside experienced Managers, Directors and Partners, gaining exposure to complex and high-profile assignments while building the leadership skills needed for the next stage of your career.
The Opportunity
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend years waiting for progression.
You’ll take ownership of significant areas of audit engagements, become a trusted contact for clients and play a key role in developing junior team members.
Working across a varied portfolio that includes listed businesses, large corporate groups and ambitious owner-managed companies, you’ll gain broad commercial exposure and technical experience that will set you apart in the market.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading audit fieldwork assignments from planning through to completion
* Acting as the day-to-day contact for a portfolio of clients
* Working closely with Managers and Partners on complex audit engagements
* Preparing and reviewing audit files, identifying risks and resolving technical issues
* Delivering high-quality financial reporting and audit work across a broad client base
* Building strong client relationships and becoming a trusted adviser
* Preparing audit findings and recommendations for clients
* Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and controls
* Monitoring assignment budgets and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently
* Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities within existing client relationships
* Coaching, mentoring and developing junior members of the audit team
* Working collaboratively with tax, advisory and specialist teams to deliver a seamless client experience
About You
We’re keen to speak with ambitious auditors who are looking to continue building their technical and leadership capabilities.
You’ll ideally have:
* ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or be in the final stages of your studies
* Strong external audit experience gained within accountancy practice
* Experience working across a varied client portfolio
* Sound knowledge of UK accounting standards and audit methodology
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* The confidence to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders
* A proactive and commercially minded approach
* A genuine desire to progress into management
Experience working with listed businesses, larger corporate groups or complex audit assignments would be advantageous but is not essential.
What’s On Offer?
* Salary of £45,000 – £58,000 depending on experience and qualification status
* Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
* Continued ACA or ACCA study support where required
* Clear and structured progression towards Assistant Manager and Manager level
* Exposure to listed, corporate and owner-managed business clients
* Ongoing technical and leadership development
* Direct access to Partners and senior decision-makers
