This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on protecting production, driving containment, and eliminating repeat quality issues at source.If you are technically sharp, operationally decisive, and comfortable holding suppliers to account, this role provides real ownership and visibility.Role PurposeTo provide structured Supplier Technical Assistance, ensuring purchased components meet required standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The role bridges production, engineering, and supply base, driving permanent corrective actions and improving supplier capability.You will operate both reactively (issue resolution) and proactively (risk mitigation, process audits).Key Responsibilities:Supplier Issue ManagementLead containment and root cause investigations at supplier sitesDrive 8D closure with robust verification and prevention controlsValidate corrective actions through on-site audits and data analysisEscalate non-performing suppliers using structured governanceProduction ProtectionManage supplier-related disruptions within EPMCImplement short-term containment strategies to protect buildCoordinate sorting, rework, and deviation management when requiredProcess & System ImprovementIdentify systemic risks and drive capability improvement plansSupport cost avoidance initiatives linked to quality failuresEssential Skills & Technical Experience Required:Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing or equivalent experience).Proven experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering within automotive or complex manufacturing.Strong working knowledge of 8D methodology, Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa),PFMEA / DFMEA, Control Plans, SPC & Capability Studies (Cp/Cpk)Experience managing supplier escalations and containment activityAbility to interpret technical drawings and GD&TRTW in the UK without restrictions (PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIPS)Desirable Skills:Six Sigma Green Belt (or above)VDA 6.3 Auditor qualificationExperience within BIW, powertrain, chassis, trim or electronics supply chainExperience working in an EPMC environmentProficient in Minitab statistics
