Accounts Payable Analyst – Central London – Up to £37k

We’re recruiting an Accounts Payable Analyst for a well-established hospitality group in Central London. This is a hands-on role with full ownership of AP, reporting directly into the Group Operations Financial Controller — ideal if you’ve built a solid grounding in AP and want more responsibility, visibility, and progression.

The role

You’ll run the day-to-day Accounts Payable function end-to-end — from invoice processing and supplier management to payment runs, reconciliations, and supporting month-end. You’ll also play a key role in improving systems, workflows, and controls as the business continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices, credit notes, and employee expenses accurately and on time
• Matching invoices to POs, securing approvals, and running weekly/monthly payment runs
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies quickly
• Owning the AP inbox and being the primary contact for supplier queries
• Maintaining the contract tracker (renewals, notice periods, obligations)
• Managing supplier portals (utilities, business rates, mobile, corporate cards)
• Administering the purchasing/approval workflow system, including user access and training
• Supporting month-end close: reconciliations, accruals, and reporting
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and ad hoc analysis
• Preparing documentation for internal and external audits

What we’re looking for

Essential

• 1+ year in Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, or similar finance role
• Proficiency in Xero (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with reconciliations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing priorities
• Confident communicator with finance and non-finance teams

Desirable

• Experience in hospitality, leisure, membership clubs, or service-based industries
• AAT qualified or studying CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Experience with ApprovalMax or similar purchasing platforms
