We have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years are registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+). Children are recognised as individuals with unique skills to celebrate and given tailored support and guidance at Teaching Role each stage of their school career. Our structure of Early Learning School, Junior School, Middle School and Senior School means that every year group works with professionals who specialize and enjoy working with the students in their care.
The unique Reddam House philosophy and our formula for success are based to a large degree on the quality and depth of our curricula, cultural and sporting activities and especially our teaching staff, fully recognising that what goes on in the classroom between teacher and student strongly influences the success of the school.
We currently have a vacancy for a part time School Staff Instructor (Combined Cadet Force) working 2 days a week during term time starting in September 2026. During term time, the post holder should expect greater flexibility in working hours, including later finishes where required, to support:
Early evening CCF activities and training
School events, Open Days, performances and functions
The role also includes occassional weekends and potentially school holidays for CCF related activities and events (e.g. Skill at Arms, Swift Bugle, Rifles Cup, CCF camps as organised by the Army)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Contingent Commander in the effective leadership and management of the CCF, ensuring full compliance with Ministry of Defence policy, Joint Service Publications and CCF regulations
Play a central role in the safe, effective and efficient running of the Contingent through high quality organisation, administration and operational support
Plan, administer and support the delivery of CCF training across all relevant strands including drill, skill at arms, shooting, fieldcraft, leadership and adventurous training
Maintain accurate and up to date CFAV and cadet records on Cadet MIS, including attendance, qualifications, medical, dietary and personal details, and ensure updates are completed in a timely manner
Support the Contingent Commander with the administration of medical, welfare and emergency arrangements for CCF activities, camps and training
Monitor CFAV mandatory checks, security clearances and training requirements, highlighting upcoming renewals or gaps to the Contingent Commander
Administer the onboarding of new CFAVs and cadets in line with CCF policy, supporting completion of applications, checks and induction processes
Manage CCF administration including training records, audits, inspections, reports and statutory returns, ensuring these are completed accurately and on time
Act as principal adviser to CCF staff on military training standards, safety, safeguarding and best practice
Maintain a clear and coherent scheme of work for CCF sessions and ensure CCF officers are appropriately briefed and supported to deliver high quality training
Mentor and support teaching staff who are developing as CCF officers, arranging and facilitating access to relevant training and development opportunities
Organise and support field days, weekend exercises, camps, competitions and UK or overseas expeditions, including all associated administrative, logistical and compliance requirements
Maintain high standards of discipline, turnout and behaviour within the Contingent
Promote the CCF within the school community and wider networks, supporting recruitment, retention and progression for both staff and students
