We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Helpdesk Assistant to join an IT team in Milton Keynes for this UK based distributor. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users, and keeping business systems running smoothly.
You’ll be the first point of contact for IT support across the business, providing day-to-day assistance to internal users and ensuring minimal disruption to operations. You’ll support a lively environment, including office and warehouse users, so no two days will be the same.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1st line IT support via telephone, email, and ticketing system
*Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
*Manage user accounts, permissions, and access (Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange)
*Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment and business applications
*Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or third-party providers
*Maintain accurate records of incidents, requests, and resolutions
*Support IT projects, upgrades, and system rollouts
*Assist with support of warehouse and logistics systems used across the business
About You
*Previous experience in an IT Helpdesk / Service Desk or IT Support role
*Strong customer service and communication skills
*Comfortable supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
*Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools
*Knowledge of Active Directory is highly desirable
*Exposure to ERP systems, warehouse systems, networking, PowerShell or databases is an advantage
*A proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
