As a Senior RME Technician, you’ll help us stay one stepahead, adopting the latest technologies and identifying new andefficient ways of working. In this role, you’ll pay close attentionto our processes to help maintain our high standards, and you’llput in place upgrades to take that standard even higher.

We are looking for motivated,customer-focused people who want to join our team as a SeniorReliability Maintenance Engineering Technician. The focus of theSenior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician role is toensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, to ensurepreventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standardand to provide high levels of equipment availability throughcontinuous improvement.
Shift Pattern: Thisrole includes working in non-traditional shift pattern, which mayinclude nights andweekends.
Key jobresponsibilities
Demonstrate best practice on usingequipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows thecorrect processes
Keep track of equipment performancethrough visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventativemaintenance tasks and schedule additional servicing when required
Supervise technicians on shift to support theirdevelopment and act as the first point of contact for ReliabilityMaintenance Engineers
Solve issues in equipment toreduce downtime for operations so they can process packages asquickly as possible
Support in finding ways tocontinually improve systems and standardise processes across the EUnetwork
A day in thelife
In everyshift, you’ll be leading a team to make sure everyone has theequipment they need and that it’s running properly. That involvesmonitoring processes so that regulations and policies are followedand ensuring that preventative maintenance is carried out toincrease equipment uptime.
With everythingyou observe on your shifts, you’ll suggest improvements to make oursystems more efficient and productive and then implement thoseimprovements across an EU-wide function. You’ll also be monitoringprocesses with tools like Scada to guarantee their performance, aswell as working closely with your line manager to assist with admintasks.
This role is located at one of ouroperational sites. You’ll work shift patterns, which may includesome weekends and nights. As you develop your experience withinthis exciting part of Amazon, you’ll be well-placed to progressinto more senior roles.

OurReliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipmentperforming at its best. We’re a technically minded team, made up ofexcellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We worktogether to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across ourglobal network of fulfilment centers. Some of our people areleaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology –some of which only exists at Amazon.
Frominstalling automated packaging systems to overseeing the generalmaintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, ourteam handles most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includeskeeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and oursites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are lots ofopportunities for progression, both within the RME team and morewidely across Amazon.
Everything we do focuseson reducing downtime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, socustomers get their orders on time. We often work during early orlate hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption,including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, wehave the skills and the opportunity to develop and introducecompletely new processes or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Roboticsand our Complex Item Sorter.
BASICQUALIFICATIONS– High school or equivalentdiploma
– NVQ Level 3/ SVQ Level 3/ IVQ Level 3/ City& Guilds Level 3/EAL Level 3 all specialized in Mechanical,Electrical or Mechatronics
– 4 years UK certifiedapprenticeship
– Work a flexible schedule/shift/workarea, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
-Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electricaland electronic principles, preventative maintenance procedures,blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, industrialcontrols, industrial electronics, Programmable Logic Control (PLC)programs, National Electrical Code (NEC), work ordermanagement
– Experience using CMMS (ComputerizedMaintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance andrecord reactive tasks
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS– Associate’s degree in Mechatronics or arelated technical field
– Experience in vendormanagement
– Experience with roboticmaintenance
– Experience leading engineering teams as amentor or tech lead
– Experience working with materialhandling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEMrequirements
