We are looking for dynamic individuals who have completed their Foundation Programme training (or equivalent) with previous experience of working in the NHS.
There are two fixed term posts available commencing 05 August 2026 for a duration of one-year.
There will be an opportunity to complete a funded postgraduate qualification in Medical Education.
The posts offer an exciting opportunity for doctors interested in pursuing a career in General Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will work in Cardiology for one year at Clinical Fellow grade.
There are currently no on-calls associated with these posts but this could change and there may be a requirement in future. This will be discussed further at interview.
Main duties of the job
Led by a team of Clinicians with educational qualifications, the Medical Education Clinical Fellows facilitate the learning experience of students through tutorials, bed-side teaching and mentoring.
We expect our Medical Education Clinical Fellows to be passionate about teaching, and be supportive role-models for students at the beginning of their journey to become healthcare professionals. The post supports funding for educational qualifications and we want candidates to be aspirational in their outlook on learning.
Medical Education Clinical Fellows match 1.5 days of teaching and student support for the Undergraduate Department with 3.5 days of clinical activity in the Cardiology department based at the Ysbyty Gwynedd. They have representation on the Medical Education Board and contribute to two annual Digital Education Study Days.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get ahead with your e-portfolio and enhance your application to specialist training. At Ysbyty Gwynedd we offer each clinical fellow an educational supervisor to help guide you through your career and training requirements.
