Overview We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to support a major experimental engineering programme, with a focus on shutdown activities and ongoing system maintenance. This is a hands-on role working on complex, high-spec mechanical systems within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. Key Responsibilities * Support planned shutdown activities, including preparation and execution of mechanical works * Carry out installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of mechanical systems * Work across systems including vacuum, cooling, pressurised, and electromagnetic equipment * Assist with large-scale installation programmes and specialist in-vessel works * Support operational efficiency through maintenance and intervention activities * Compile work packages, including safe systems of work and maintenance procedures * Document processes for installation, testing, and maintenance activities * Supervise mechanical fitters and junior personnel where required * Provide support to Plant Responsible Officers (PROs) and wider engineering teams * Maintain high safety standards, ensuring compliance with risk…
