Business Development Manager – Site Services (Pumps) Covering the North Permanent Strong technical knowledge of pumps is required A well-established manufactur e r within the pump industry is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within its site services / pump service division. This role focuses on developing service-led revenue streams across industrial and infrastructure markets. We need someone with a strong technical pump background in either sales or service who is looking for their next move, focusing on providing service solutions to customers. The Role Develop and grow new business opportunities within pump servicing, maintenance, repair, and aftermarket solutions. Identify and target key customers across water, utilities, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Build strong relationships with end users, contractors, and partners to secure long-term service agreements. Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate terms, and close service contracts. Manage and grow a sustainable sales pipeline aligned with strategic growth targets. Work closely with service and operations teams to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging service opportunities. Represent the business at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events. Contribute to pricing strategy, forecasting, and commercial performance reporting. What We’re Looking For Proven experience in business development or sales within the pump, service, or rotating equipment sector. Strong understanding of pump servicing, aftermarket, and site-based engineering solutions. Track record of winning new business and growing service revenue. Confident communicator with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills. Commercially astute with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and KPI management. Comfortable working autonomously in a field-based, customer-facing role. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Requirements Strong knowledge within the pump industry. Sales experience preferred but not essential if you are from a service background looking to come off the tools. Experience working with municipal water, utilities, or industrial customers. Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales processes.
