Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.
Key activities & responsibilities
– Asset capture / inventory: Identify and record all accessible on-site assets (process, estates and services) in the agreed format.
– Hierarchy recording: Record assets using the defined in-scope hierarchy layers (Process, Sub-Process, Equipment Unit, Asset, Sub-Asset) and the client’s existing hierarchy approach.
– Condition assessment (visual, non-intrusive): Photograph assets and record a numerical condition grade per client standard.
– Photography: Capture three photos per asset where practicable (boilerplate/nameplate, asset, location) and ensure traceability/metadata in line with instructions.
– Process understanding: Assist with review and/or production of a simple Process Flow Diagram (PFD) / block diagram for the site.
– Data quality: Highlight unclear items, missing labels, access restrictions and discrepancies for Senior review record assumptions/limitations as instructed.
– Safety & access compliance: Work to approved RAMS and site rules do not attempt activities outside RAMS escalate constraints (e.g., confined spaces/at height/live process areas/below ground where outside RAMS).
Deliverables (per site)
– Junior contribution
– Completed asset capture templates (asset list attributes hierarchy level).
– Photo set per asset (3 where possible).
– Inputs to simple PFD / block diagram and site notes.
Experience / skills (typical) Essential
– Practical experience in industrial / utilities / facilities environments (maintenance, inspections, surveying, asset tagging, or similar).
– Able to recognise common asset types across mechanical/electrical/civil/instrumentation and record details accurately.
– Strong attention to detail confident using Excel/templates and taking consistent photos.
Desirable
– Water / wastewater site familiarity.
– Exposure to asset registers / CMMS / asset hierarchy concepts.
Qualifications / other requirements
– Relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
– UK driving licence and willingness to travel to operational sites.
– Ability to comply with RAMS and site safety rules (non-intrusive verification approach).
Reporting / supervision
– Works under day-to-day direction of the Senior Asset Verification Surveyor / Site Lead escalates uncertainties, access limitations and anomalies.
Senior Asset Verification Surveyor / Site Lead (Contingent Worker) Rate: £30-40 p/h Role purpose Lead on-site Asset Verification delivery for assigned sites, ensuring safe execution, high-quality data capture, correct hierarchy allocation, robust recording of confidence/assumptions, and completion of all required outputs (asset list, condition grades, photos, PFD).
Key activities & responsibilities
– Site delivery leadership: Plan and lead site walkdowns manage daily priorities and ensure coverage of all safely accessible assets within scope.
– Verification versus existing records: Systematically identify discrepancies between recorded data and observed assets (omissions/inaccuracies/unrecorded assets) and document clearly.
– Hierarchy & structure assurance: Own the correct classification and allocation of assets to hierarchy levels (Process ? Sub-Process ? Equipment Unit ? Asset ? Sub-Asset) and ensure consistent application across the site.
– Condition grading governance: Ensure numerical condition grading is applied consistently and supported with photographic evidence.
– Photography standard & traceability: Enforce the “3 photos per asset where practicable” requirement (boilerplate/nameplate, asset, location) and check that photo sets are traceable to asset records.
– PFD ownership: Review existing PFDs and produce/validate a simple PFD / block diagram capturing the site’s key process steps and asset groupings as required.
– Safety leadership & constraints management: Ensure work is safe, proportionate and non-intrusive confirm RAMS compliance explicitly record verification confidence and assumptions where full confirmation is not achievable flag non-verifiable assets.
– Access coordination / escalation: Recognise restricted areas where client-authorised attendance is required (e.g., electrical cabinets, screened chemical areas) and coordinate/raise constraints appropriately.
– QA/QC & mentoring: Check Junior outputs for completeness/consistency coach on asset identification, photography discipline, and hierarchy rules.
(Role expectation-implementation detail, not mandated by the sources.)

Deliverables (per site)
– Senior ownership
– Complete list of identifiable assets attributes hierarchy level in agreed format.
– Simple PFD / block diagram.
– Photographic record (3 per asset where possible) with traceability/metadata.
– Clear recording of verification status/confidence, assumptions, and assets not fully verifiable.
– Inputs to site review meeting and lessons learned.
Experience / skills (typical) Essential
– Strong track record in asset inspections/surveys in operational environments (water/wastewater/utilities strongly preferred).
– Confident across MECIA-style asset sets (mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, instrumentation/control, ancillaries).
– Demonstrable ability to apply structured classification (hierarchy), document discrepancies, and record confidence/assumptions for auditability.
– Proven safety leadership in live operational sites disciplined RAMS adherence.
Desirable
– Experience producing or validating simplified PFDs for operational understanding.
– Familiarity with asset management data standards / bulk upload templates (attributes captured via templates are referenced).
Qualifications / other requirements
