The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Legal Cashier to join a well-established legal firm based in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience within a legal environment to play a key role in supporting the finance function.
You will be responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing client and office account transactions
- Handling daily banking, including receipts and payments
- Managing client account reconciliations
- Processing CHAPS, BACS, and online payments
- Posting and allocating receipts and invoices
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Maintaining accurate financial records in line with compliance regulations
- Liaising with fee earners and external stakeholders regarding financial queries
About You
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident using legal accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
