Finance Assistant (Progression to Management Accountant)
Location: Wokingham(full time in office and then Hybrid)
Reporting to: Head of Finance
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the finance function while developing their skills in management accounting. This role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership and working independently, with strong ambition to progress into a Management Accountant role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchase ledger (AP) and sales ledger (AR)
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Support credit control and supplier account management
- Assist with month-end processes including prepayments, accruals, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across accounts
- Work with ERP system (EFACS experience beneficial but not essential)
Key Skills & Experience
- Some experience in a finance role (Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant)
- Experience with ledgers, bank reconciliations, and basic month-end processes
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data handling)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
