Assistant Accountant (part-qualified)

Uxbridge | Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)

A growing international business is looking to add an Assistant Accountant to its collaborative EMEA finance team.

This opportunity offers far more than a traditional transactional accounting role, with a mix of financial reporting, compliance and business improvement projects. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll gain exposure to multiple European entities and have the chance to play a key role in both day-to-day finance operations and wider strategic opportunities.

Assistant Accountant Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across several European entities.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation and year-end compliance activities.
• Prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Support external audit processes and liaise with third-party advisers where required.
• Assist with tax, VAT and regulatory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Contribute to finance transformation, system enhancement and process improvement projects.
• Produce financial analysis and reporting to support business performance and decision making.
• Help strengthen controls, documentation and finance best practices across the wider function.

Assistant Accountant Requirements

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting activities
• Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail
• Confident Excel user with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
• Positive, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in projects and process improvements
• Experience within a multi-entity or international environment would be beneficial, but not essential.
