Are you someone who cares deeply about others and wants to bring comfort when it matters most?
Join our Hospital Companion service at Yeovil Hospital where you can make a meaningful difference to people with a terminal diagnosis.
As a volunteer, you’ll offer emotional support, companionship, and a calming presence to people who need it most. Each week, you’ll spend time with someone – listening, chatting, and simply being there when they need a friendly face.
Availability: 3 hours per week – flexible to suit your schedule
Criteria: Minimum 18 years of age. A Criminal Record Check is required for this opportunity – Marie Curie will cover the cost of this.
What you’ll do:
- Spend time with someone each week
- Offer emotional support and companionship
- Share helpful info and connect families to local services
- Complete a basic report after each visit
