Finance & Operations Lead
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + benefits
London
Are you looking for a role that offers far more than traditional finance?
Do you enjoy understanding how projects perform, how businesses grow and how commercial decisions impact profitability?
Would you thrive in a position where finance, operations and commercial analysis come together?
An established and highly regarded international professional services business is seeking a Finance & Operations Lead to join its London-based team.
Working closely with senior leadership, this is a broad and highly visible role that sits at the heart of the organisation. Whilst you’ll take ownership of key financial processes, you’ll also gain significant exposure to commercial decision-making, business performance, project profitability, operational improvement and strategic planning.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing numbers but also wants to understand the story behind them.
The Role
You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting both the financial and operational performance of the business, taking responsibility for areas including:
• Managing the invoicing process across a portfolio of projects and clients
• Monitoring accounts receivable and supporting cash collection activities
• Producing financial and operational reports for senior stakeholders
• Analysing project profitability, utilisation and commercial performance
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities
• Assisting with fee proposals, project budgets and commercial documentation
• Supporting contract administration and project set-up processes
• Producing management information and commercial analysis for leadership meetings
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives, automation projects and reporting enhancements
• Supporting wider business growth and operational initiatives
About You
We’re keen to hear from individuals who combine strong financial acumen with commercial curiosity.
You may currently be working in a Finance Analyst, Commercial Analyst, Finance & Operations, Accounts Management, Revenue Operations or Project Finance role and be looking for broader exposure and greater influence.
You’ll ideally bring:
• 3-5 years’ experience within finance, commercial operations or a similar role
• Experience managing invoicing and accounts receivable processes
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• Confidence analysing financial and operational data
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive approach and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
Experience within professional services, consultancy, project-led or client-focused environments would be advantageous, although this is by no means essential.
Why Apply?
This is a genuinely varied opportunity offering exposure well beyond traditional finance responsibilities.
You’ll work closely with senior decision-makers, gain insight into how a successful international business operates and have the opportunity to influence both commercial and operational performance.
For ambitious individuals looking to broaden their skillset and accelerate their career development, this role offers a unique platform for growth.
