Service Engineer – Power / Transformers (HV Field Service)Location: Leeds (UK & Europe Travel)Salary: Competitive + benefitsWe are working with a well-established engineering business who are looking for a Service Engineer to join their field services team supporting power and distribution transformers.This is a field-based role covering the UK and Europe, involving fault finding, maintenance, repair and testing of HV electrical equipment in operational site environments.The RoleYou will attend customer sites to inspect, diagnose and repair faults on power transformers and associated HV systems. Work is varied and often reactive, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on site.Key ResponsibilitiesAttend site to diagnose and repair transformer faultsCarry out mechanical and electrical fault finding and maintenanceInvestigate issues such as oil leaks, electrical faults and component failuresSupport testing activities (IR, HV withstand, functional checks)Replace and repair components including relays, gaskets, cooling systems and accessoriesComplete detailed service reports, RAMS and job documentationWork independently on customer sites when requiredTravel across the UK and Europe as part of the roleSkills & Experience RequiredBackground in electrical site engineering, HV systems, transformers, substation maintenance or similar field-based engineering workStrong fault-finding experience in mechanical/electrical systemsAbility to read technical drawings and schematicsExperience working in site-based engineering environmentsStrong understanding of health & safety and RAMSECS card (essential)Full UK driving licence (essential)Desirable ExperienceTransformer commissioning or HV testing experienceSubstation or utility maintenance backgroundExperience with insulation resistance (IR) or HV testingLifting, slinging, crane or FLT certificationsBenefitsCompetitive salary (DOE)33 days holiday (including bank holidays)Profit share schemeHealthcare cash plan & EAPLife insurance (3x salary)EV / Cycle to Work schemePension schemeAbout the RoleThis is a hands-on field engineering position working on critical power infrastructure.
