THE ROLE:
AMD is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our growing documentation team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering highâquality technical content for complex products and technologies. You will work across multiple projects and deadlines while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to ensure accurate, wellâstructured, and userâfocused documentation.

- Passionate about information architecture, content quality, and effective content delivery.
- Demonstrates strong time and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams.
- Thrives in a collaborative, fastâpaced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with technical and nonâtechnical stakeholders.
- Builds strong working relationships with crossâfunctional teams, including engineering, product, and marketing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, create, and maintain technical documentation for complex products and technologies in a highâtech environment.
- Manage multiple documentation projects with overlapping timelines and deadlines, ensuring onâtime delivery.
- Work directly with subject matter experts (SMEs) across engineering and product teams to develop accurate and usable documentation.
- Apply and enforce multiple style guides and writing standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Track project status, report progress, and manage documentation risks and dependencies.
- Contribute to and support structured authoring and publishing workflows using DITA or other XMLâbased systems.
- Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones to deliver cohesive documentation sets.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Technical writing experience in a highâtech or software/hardware environment.
- Experience working with DITA or other XMLâbased authoring and publishing systems.
- Working knowledge of Gitâbased documentation workflows, Markdown, and reStructuredText (RST).
- Experience collaborating with global, crossâfunctional teams.
- Familiarity with project tracking tools and collaborative platforms such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience in the semiconductor domain or a related hardware/software ecosystem.
- Experience creating developerâfocused documentation, such as API or reference material.
- Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python).
- Experience using AIâassisted tools to support documentation workflows (writing, editing, review, validation, or quality checks).
- Experience with technical illustration or graphics tools such as Microsoft Visio.
- Familiarity with Agile or releaseâdriven documentation environments.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelorâs degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communication, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; a universityâissued certificate in technical communication is also acceptable.
