Part-Time Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper
Our client is looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting and ledger activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance function within a busy and fast-paced environment.
This position would suit an experienced and proactive individual who is comfortable working independently and managing their own workload effectively. The role offers flexibility for both the business and the successful candidate and will be based around 10 hours per week over 2 days.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers
Processing supplier and customer invoices
Chasing suppliers for outstanding invoice amounts
Reconciling bank accounts and supplier statements
Managing payment runs and monitoring outstanding balances
Assisting with credit control and customer account queries
Preparing and posting journal entries where required
Supporting month-end and year-end processes
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
Assisting with finance administration and reporting tasks
Liaising professionally with internal departments and external suppliers
Person Specification
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience within an accounts or bookkeeping role
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
Professional, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information
Desirable
AAT qualified or currently studying towards an accounting qualification
Experience within the events, rental, or logistics industry
Experience managing multi-currency transactions
