Accounts Payable Job at Wokingham, Berkshire Full Time NEW

Reed Accountancy are currently working with a well-established, growing business based in Wokingham who are looking to add an Accounts Payable Assistant to their friendly finance team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is either looking to build on their existing AP experience or step into a role where they can really develop and grow over time.

The business is part of a larger group with a long-standing history and continues to expand, so there is genuine scope for progression for the right person.

The Role

This is a varied position where you will take responsibility for supporting the accounts payable function across multiple entities. You’ll be working within a collaborative team but also have ownership of your own workload.

Duties will include:

• Processing a high volume of invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
• Assisting with payment runs to ensure suppliers are paid on time
• Managing supplier queries and building strong working relationships
• Processing employee expenses and company credit cards
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and ensuring compliance
• Supporting across multiple ledgers as required

The role offers exposure to a broad set of responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to continue developing their skills.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within an Accounts Payable or transactional finance role is beneficial
• Confident working with high volumes of data
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills and ability to build relationships internally and externally
• Proficiency in Excel and general systems
• A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn

Most importantly, the client is looking for someone enthusiastic and keen to grow – attitude is just as important as experience here. The role is fully office based, but does offer the option of hybrid working on occasion. Working hours are 9am to 5pm with flex on start/finish times.
