Temporary Finance Assistant Job at Accrington, Lancashire Full Time NEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Temporary Finance Assistant to support our finance team during a busy period on a part time basis / Monday to Thursday. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience using Sage and Sage Intacct, with strong transactional finance skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised finance professional who can quickly integrate into the team and provide immediate support across day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities – Finance Assistant

• Processing purchase invoices, supplier payments, and expense claims
• Raising and processing sales invoices
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Assisting with payment runs Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
• Posting journals and assisting with month-end processes
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
• Managing finance inbox queries and responding promptly to internal/external stakeholders
• Supporting cash allocation and credit control activities where required
• Assisting with ad hoc finance administration and reporting
• Using Sage and Sage Intacct for day-to-day transaction processing and reporting

Skills & Experience Required – Finance Assistant

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable / Transactional Finance role
• Strong working knowledge of Sage and Sage Intacct (essential)
• Good understanding of finance processes including AP, AR, reconciliations, and journals
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables beneficial)
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Available to start at short notice / immediately preferred
