Interim Finance Assistant (Transactional Support)

Role OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and hands-on Interim Finance Assistant to support a busy finance team based in Scunthorpe. This will run through to September, focused on managing transactional finance activities and providing wider team support during a peak period.This role would suit a versatile, detail-oriented finance professional who is confident taking ownership of day-to-day processes and stepping in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes
- Processing high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently
- Bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Assisting with cash allocation and credit control activities
- Supporting month-end processes where required
- Maintaining accurate financial records and system updates
- Handling queries from internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Providing general administrative and ad hoc support across the finance function
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a transactional finance role (AP/AR/Finance Assistant)
- Strong systems skills with the ability to quickly pick up new finance systems
- Confident using Excel (e.g., basic formulas, data handling)
- A strong all-rounder with a flexible, can-do attitude
- High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
