Your new role

The primary purpose of this role is to serve as the senior technical and strategic leader for AI/MLOps Engineering within the businesses AI Centre of Excellence (CoE). The post holder will act as a recognised subject-matter expert and principal advisor, leading the productionisation, scaling, operationalernance, and life cycle management of AI/ML systems across the organisation.
This is a Director-level leadership role requiring deep technical credibility, strong strategic judgement, and the ability to drive delivery across multiple business domains within a biotech environment. The role is accountable for defining and executing the enterprise AI/MLOps engineering strategy, ensuring that AI capabilities—including machine learning systems, large language models (LLMs), agentic AI workflows, and healthcare foundation models—are deployed through scalable, secure, reproducible, and GxPpliant engineering practices.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Significant experience leading AI/MLOps, MLOps, AI platform engineering, or closely related technical capabilities inplex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience defining strategy and leading delivery across multiple business areas.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML productionisation, platform architecture, deployment patterns, life cycle management, and operationalernance.
• Strong experience with cloud and platform ecosystems relevant to AI deployment, including managed ML services, infrastructure automation, containerisation, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, data integration, platform security, observability, reliability, and supportability requirements.
