Quality Inspector, Cammell LairdWere looking for someone able to cover this role initially for a 12-month period, potentially longer with a quality career path.This is a hands-on role focused on inspecting mechanical components, supporting QA activities, and working closely with production and customers to ensure were meeting standards and specifications.So who are we?Known across the globe at our Birkenhead facility, on the banks of the River Mersey we expand across 130 acres which includes four dry docks, a large modular construction hall and extensive covered workshops.Weve played a strategic role in UK shipbuilding for the past 200 years, repairing, maintaining and building ships and other vessels.And what will you do?Working as part of our wider QHSE team and ensuring our project critical path is on track youll carry out mechanical inspections and job verification activities in line with inspection and test plansMeasure mechanical components and check tolerances against drawings and specifications i.e. engine components, pumps, valves, coolers etc.Complete accurate inspection reports and record findings clearlyOrganise sub-contract NDT activitiesLiaise with customers, classification inspectors, production teams, and subcontractors to support quality requirementsHelp identify issues, solve problems, and support final acceptance of completed workAnd what we looking for?Ideally someone time served with experience gained in Marine Ship Building / Repair or Heavy EngineeringAbility to interpret technical drawings and identify mechanical componentsGood understanding of engineering principles, codes, and standardsSomeone who is internal Auditor trainedStrong communication skills and confidence working with customers and internal teamsComputer literate, with the ability to produce reports and maintain recordsAble to work independently, manage priorities, and you must be able to prioritise and perform well under pressureIf youre ready to join us for this 12-month contract, wed love to hear from you!Due to the nature of what we do for some of the customers that we work with, some roles working for Cammell Laird are subject to security control restrictions.
