Overview
We are seeking an IT Consultant to support the analysis, design, implementation and assurance of IT systems and related processes across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Responsibilities include systems analysis/advisory activity, technical design, testing and stakeholder engagement where required.

Responsibilities

• You will be expected to carry out a combination of the following, depending on project needs:
• Requirements discovery & systems analysis: engage internal stakeholders and (where applicable) clients to understand requirements; translate these into functional/non functional specifications, programme specifications and solution options; analyse existing system designs and data/process models to develop feasible technical solutions.
• Solution design & implementation support: design, configure and support implementation of IT solutions (applications, integrations, workflows, or infrastructure components); produce high level and low level technical design documentation (HLD/LLD) and support development teams in implementing change requests and enhancements.
• Testing & quality assurance: develop and document unit test plans, system test cases and integration test specifications; execute testing; identify defects/root cause; recommend and verify fixes; support system testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases across releases and contribute to quality standards.
• Security & resilience: support the review of systems for security/integrity risks and contribute to continuity/disaster recovery planning and incident reporting where needed; ensure systems meet appropriate compliance and operational standards.
• User enablement: prepare user guidance and deliver training/knowledge transfer to users and operational teams; develop user training guides, process documentation and system handover materials.
• Operational support: assist with maintaining and improving IT processes, including change control, documentation updates and structured troubleshooting; manage defects, risks and issues ensuring they are tracked, prioritised and resolved appropriately.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience in IT systems analysis and delivery, including translating requirements into workable technical solutions.
• Experience writing technical documentation (specs, runbooks, HLD/LLD, test plans, user guidance).
• Practical testing/QA experience (planning, execution, defect management, system/integration testing).
• Understanding of security fundamentals (access controls, secure configuration, incident awareness).
• Strong stakeholder communication skills (able to explain technical concepts clearly).

Desirable

• Experience with test automation frameworks or structured delivery environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), CI/CD, monitoring/logging, or service management tooling.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, AWS, ISTQB) or equivalent experience.

• Salary meeting the general threshold and the published going rate for the occupation code 2139 (pro-rated to contracted hours).
