Technology provides digital tools, software services, and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile ‘streams’ aligned to specific business areas. Other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including the global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design.
The Business Technology function ensures delivery of Technology services to each of Marex’s business areas by optimising their technology stack, prioritising their strategic technology roadmap, and driving their software delivery lifecycle. Each Business Technology team is aligned to one of Marex’s business divisions and works with a corresponding Development team and Application Support team. A global team of implementation resources coordinate and support the technology business streams with delivery.
Role Summary The London-based Operations Technologist will support all areas of Marex’s Operations department, with a particular focus on the derivatives, energy, Broker Dealer, and Swap Dealer businesses by partnering with stakeholders across a broad section of the business. The role collaborates to define and implement a vision for world class operational platforms, applying modern technology to improve trade processing, controls, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting across OTC and listed products.
Acting as a key point of contact from inception through business acceptance, the Operations Technologist will capture and shape requirements for change initiatives and translate them into clear deliverables for the wider technology organisation. Solutions may be delivered through bespoke in house development or the selection and implementation of vendor platforms, with the Operations Technologist providing end to end oversight to ensure outcomes meet business needs and operate within a stable, well governed control environment.
