About the Role
Queen Mary University of London is seeking to appoint an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes to join the Population and Precision Health Sciences Unit within the Wolfson Institute of Population Health.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically qualified doctor in training (ST3–ST8 equivalent) to develop an academic career in diabetes, genomics and population health. The post offers protected time to undertake postdoctoral research alongside clinical training, within a highly collaborative and supportive research environment.
About You
Applicants must hold a GMC-registerable medical qualification, have (or be close to completing) a PhD/MD, and demonstrate a strong track record in diabetes research and publications. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a clear commitment to a career in academic medicine are essential.
About the Project
The successful candidate will contribute to two flagship research programmes: Black Health Legacy (https://blackhealthlegacy.org) and Genes & Health (https://www.genesandhealth.org), focusing on improving cardiometabolic health in diverse and underrepresented populations. The role will involve clinical research delivery, phenotyping, and analysis of genomic and health data, with opportunities to engage in translational, epidemiological and health services research.
