Assistant Accountant

Location: Hendon

Salary: £36,000 – £40,000

Working hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm – fully office based

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to support our financial operations and reporting. If you’re part-qualified in ACCA and have a passion for numbers, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the reconciliation of all bank accounts.
• Prepare and review key balance sheet reconciliations monthly (or quarterly).
• Review supplier statement reconciliations from Accounts Payable (AP) prior to final review.
• Conduct regular reviews of nominal ledger balances within the balance sheet.
• Capitalise purchase shows and perform monthly analysis.
• Reconcile loan balances and ensure accurate recording of interest payments.
• Review and post all credit card transactions.
• Maintain accuracy of direct debits and leases schedule.
• Update and maintain the insurance schedule.
• Assist with audit tasks and support as needed.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance on tax preparation.
• Manage the pension loan schedule and associated payments.
• Oversee and supervise Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Manage AP and AR aging for timely resolution of outstanding balances.
• Distribute ineligible listings from the ABL portal and liaise with client managers.
• Assist the Director of Finance with additional reporting and budget preparation.

Requirements:

• Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
• Proficient in Excel including Pivot tables & V-Lookups.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Experience using Xero.
