Bookkeeper & Tax Assistant Job at Billericay, Essex Full Time

LGS Vision Recruitment are supporting a firm of accountants with a Bookkeeper & Tax Assistant position.

This is great opportunity to join a supportive and growing team and support not only with Bookkeeping but also build some taxation experience. (tax training will be given)

Role:

• Manage bookkeeping for multiple clients
• Preparing self-assessment tax returns and accounts
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information
• Carrying out analysis, calculations, and submissions to HMRC
• Reconcile sales, purchases, and bank accounts
• Dealing with queries and correspondence with HMRC
• Managing Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes, including setting up clients on software

Ideal Candidate:

• Tax experience or happy to learn
• Preferably Bookkeeping and VAT skills/experience
• Personable with a good telephone manner
• Confident communicating with clients both over the phone and face to face
• Able to conduct face-to-face meetings where accounts may be completed with the client present
• Adaptable when working with a variety of clients
• Experience using IRIS and Xero
• Strong multitasking abilities
• A team player
