Control Systems Engineer Siemens TIA Portal PLC Programming Automation

My client is a growing industrial automation and control systems business looking to appoint a Control Systems Engineer as part of a major growth phase within the company.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of industrial automation projects involving Siemens PLCs, HMIs, drives and control systems across manufacturing and industrial environments.

The Role

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be involved in:

• PLC programming and software development
• Siemens HMI design and configuration
• Siemens drive/VFD configuration
• Control system testing and fault finding
• Automation project delivery
• Commissioning and customer support activities
• Supporting industrial automation and control system projects from concept through to completion
• This role will involve a mixture of office-based engineering work alongside occasional customer site visits.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Previous experience within a Control Systems Engineer, Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer or Automation Engineer role
• Siemens PLC programming experience
• Experience using Siemens TIA Portal
• Experience with:
  • Ladder Logic
  • Structured Text
  • Function Block Design (FBD)
• Experience with industrial automation systems
• Fault finding and troubleshooting experience

Highly Desirable:

• Siemens ET200SP experience
• Siemens S7-1200 / S7-1500 experience
• Siemens Unified Comfort HMI experience
• Siemens G120C drive experience
• Commissioning experience
• Industrial instrumentation exposure
• SCADA experience
• JAVA exposure
