About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a professional services organisation based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong stakeholder management skills and a proven background in credit control within a professional services environment.
Operating in a hybrid working model, you will play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow and building strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and collect outstanding debt across a portfolio of clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including partners and fee earners
- Resolve invoice queries efficiently to minimise payment delays
- Monitor aged debt reports and take appropriate action to reduce exposure
- Conduct regular account reviews and agree payment plans where necessary
- Produce credit control reports and provide updates to senior management
- Ensure adherence to company credit policies and procedures
- Support month-end processes and cash allocation activities
About You
- Proven experience in credit control within a professional services environment (e.g. legal, consultancy, accounting)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Confident liaising with senior stakeholders and clients
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise workload effectively
- Proficient in Excel and finance systems
- Proactive, resilient, and results-driven
