We’re recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead from the front, empower, and inspire a high performing multi-disciplinary Engineering team at our busy manufacturing facility.
At our Lancaster facility, you’ll lead Engineering best practice across our Paper Mill and Paper Converting environments, demonstrating strong electrical bias alongside solid mechanical expertise.
This location features both a heavy industrial environment (paper machine, high voltage pumps, recycling processes, and a control room), and an FMCG-style production area (with 2 converting lines producing product from parent reel to finished goods).
You will play a leading role in driving Continuous Improvement and reliability, and own CAPEX projects from concept to delivery, and influence site strategy, safety, and investment decisions.
Budgetary management will be a key part of the role, so we’ll rely on your expertise in this area, backed by your commercial acumen.
About you:
We’re seeking a hands-on people leader who can effectively manage urgent priorities and strategic objectives, and carry out frequent Gemba walks to maintain a visible presence and understand shopfloor challenges and priorities.
You lead by example, you demonstrate humility and integrity, and foster these qualities across the team while challenging behaviours and actions when required to prioritise safety, quality, sustainability, and morale.
Your background is Multiskilled (Electrically biased)
You are Degree qualified (or equivalent) in at least one Engineering discipline
Experience in an FMCG and/or heavy industrial manufacturing environment
Electrically astute including strong understanding and experience with PLC fault finding and ladder logic
Mechanically astute including experience building, maintaining, repairing, or replacing/fitting gearboxes, shafts, centrifugal pumps, and MIG/TIG welding
