We are seeking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) to join our Occupational Therapy team. The postholder will contribute to the delivery and facilitation of teaching and learning across our Occupational Therapy programmes within the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise.
The Department has a strong portfolio of education and research across eight health professions and benefits from excellent teaching facilities, including the National Health Innovation Campus. The successful candidate will support student-centred teaching, learning, and assessment, contributing to a high-quality student experience. This will include assisting with the planning, preparation, and delivery of teaching across a range of theoretical and practice-based modules, as well as assessing student work and providing constructive feedback. The role will also involve acting as an academic advisor and supporting the supervision of student projects and practice placements.
You should hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and demonstrate an understanding and application of key concepts underpinning contemporary professional practice. Some experience of clinical practice in Occupational Therapy is essential, and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) is required before commencement of the post. You will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and service users and demonstrate an ability to support and promote student learning.
This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.
