The company. General Intelligence Holdings acquires established independent UK accountancy practices and rebuilds them with AI — from the inside. Our first platform, Ledger, buys from retiring practice owners on terms private equity won’t offer: keep your name, keep your team, keep meaningful equity. The model has been proven at scale in the US (Thrive Holdings, General Catalyst’s Creation portfolio); nobody has built it in the UK. We have a live origination engine scanning every UK practice, a working AI tax engine with graded accuracy, an institutional investment committee, and a funding round in motion.
The role. You are the operator at the centre of the roll-up. You’ll sit across the table from selling partners and make them feel their life’s work is safe — because with you, it will be. You’ll run integration: the first 100 days of every acquired practice, client retention through transition, staff continuity, and the deployment of our operating stack into firms that have never had one. As we scale, you build the playbook and the team that runs it. This is a founding-team position, and the economics reflect it.
You. ACA or ACCA qualified, and you’ve run a practice — as managing partner, COO, or integration lead at one of the consolidators. You’ve seen practice acquisitions from the inside (perhaps you’ve sold one, or integrated twenty) and you have strong opinions about what the PE consolidation wave got wrong. You can talk to a 64-year-old sole practitioner and a software engineer in the same afternoon.
Package. Founding-level ownership — equity or carried interest depending on final capital structure — plus market-calibrated cash compensation from close of funding and per-acquisition completion incentives.
