Interim Senior Management Accountant Job at Liverpool, Merseyside Full Time NEW

A large and complex organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join the team on an initial four-month contract. Requiring an individual to start at short notice, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of management accounting and month-end reporting across a group structure, whilst supporting the ongoing development of financial processes and reporting.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will lead on the production of management accounts for the Group and two subsidiary entities, including consolidations. You will own the month-end close process, support Finance Business Partners with accurate and insightful reporting, and oversee the workflow of an Assistant Management Accountant responsible for much of the routine month-end processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the production of monthly management accounts for the Group and two entities, including consolidation activities.
• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Review journals, reconciliations and month-end postings completed by the Assistant Management Accountant.
• Support Finance Business Partners with accurate financial information, reporting and analysis.
• Investigate variances and ensure reporting outputs are robust and reliable.
• Identify and implement process improvements across reporting and finance operations.
• Build strong relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience in a similar management accounting role within a large and/or complex organisation.
• Strong management accounting and month-end close experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to produce and manipulate reports outside of finance systems.
• Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating within an evolving environment where processes may not always be fully established.
• Available to start within the next one to two weeks or at short notice.

This assignment falls inside IR35 and will be paid via an Umbrella company. The organisation is keen to secure the successful candidate quickly, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced contractor seeking their next assignment.
