We’re working with one of the South East’s most established services businesses, operating a highly recognisable portfolio of regional brands across sales financial services. With continued growth ambitions and significant investment committed to technology, the business is now seeking an IT Director to lead a business-critical transformation programme.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, highly visible role where technology is not just a support function, it’s a strategic enabler.
The Opportunity
As IT Director, you’ll take full ownership of the IT function and play a central role in modernising systems, platforms, and ways of working across the organisation. A flagship CRM transformation programme sits at the heart of this role, but the remit goes far beyond a single system.
You’ll define and deliver the IT strategy, balance innovation with operational excellence, and ensure technology truly supports commercial objectives, customer experience, and colleague productivity.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to delivery, leading from the front, and turning strategy into measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities*Lead a major CRM and platform transformation, from vision through to implementation and adoption
*Own and execute the end-to-end IT strategy, aligning technology with wider business goals
*Lead, mentor, and develop internal IT and development teams
*Manage and challenge external suppliers, partners, and vendors to ensure quality, pace, and value
*Improve system performance, reliability, and usability across the organisation
*Build strong data, MI, and reporting capabilities to support decision-making
*Ensure appropriate governance, security, and resilience across all IT services
*Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior leadership and key stakeholders
What We’re Looking For*Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role (IT Director / Head of IT / Technology Lead level)
*A strong delivery track record, you’ve successfully led major change programmes, not just written strategy documents
*Hands-on experience with CRM or core platform migrations and business-wide systems change
*Commercially minded, with the ability to balance cost, risk, and return on investment
*Confident people leader, capable of driving engagement, accountability, and cultural change
*Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
Experience within professional services, retail, financial services, or similarly distributed organisations would be advantageous, but is not essential.
