So, what is the role?
We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team at our Wigton site.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of site IT systems, including servers, user devices, manufacturing systems, and core infrastructure services. You will work closely with the IT Services Engineer, Network Security Analyst, and global IT teams to ensure stable, secure, and reliable IT services that support both manufacturing and office environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys a hands-on role, values operational stability and security, and is looking to further develop their system administration skills within a supportive, safety‑critical manufacturing business.
Responsibilities of the role include:
· Provide first‑line and second‑line IT support for manufacturing and office users, ensuring incidents and requests are resolved within agreed SLAs.
· Support manufacturing systems and operational technology, providing reliable site support during business hours and participation in an on‑call rota where required.
· Assist with systems and server administration, including troubleshooting, patching, monitoring, backups, and supporting virtualised environments under senior direction.
· Maintain and support infrastructure and network operations, including basic network tasks, asset management, and server room / communications cabinet housekeeping.
· Deliver high‑quality end‑user support, maintaining the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and ensuring endpoint security, patching, and compliance standards are met.
· Support security, risk, and compliance activities, escalating incidents, assisting with vulnerability remediation, audits, and adherence to global IT standards.
· Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including daily backup checks and participation in DR/BCP testing.
· Work collaboratively with global IT teams and third‑party suppliers, following international standards and escalating complex technical issues appropriately.
· Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset records, supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
· On-call, participation in a sharedrota within the team providing support to the business
· Contribute to IT projects (technical and non‑technical), supporting system improvements and security posture across the business.
