The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Liverpool invites applications for a Lecturer in Resilient Manufacturing and Infrastructure (Teaching & Research track).
We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative researcher with the potential to develop an internationally recognised research profile in areas related to the protection of critical infrastructure, blast and impact-resistant structures, airfield and port infrastructure durability, rapid deployment structures, climate resilience, or related emerging fields.
You will join a dynamic and growing department at the centre of major institutional investment in resilience, sustainability, and engineering innovation. Supported by significant investment in research infrastructure, laboratories, and interdisciplinary capability, you will have the opportunity to develop internationally competitive research programmes, secure external funding, establish industrial and governmental partnerships, and contribute to high-impact translational research.
The Department works closely with colleagues across engineering, materials, manufacturing, digital technologies, environmental sciences, and energy systems, providing a highly collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while helping shape the future direction of resilient infrastructure research within the School of Engineering.
The University of Liverpool is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment and welcomes applications from candidates from all backgrounds and communities. Flexible working and family-friendly policies are available to support colleagues at all career stages.
The post is full-time and permanent. Interviews and candidate presentations will take place on Tuesday 4th August 2026 at the University of Liverpool.
