Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 29.6 hours per week – 37 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Part / Term Time

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Personal Development to join our Sport department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Personal Development Teaching & Learner Support – Deliver engaging personal development sessions across a range of programmes, supporting learners to build confidence, life skills and achieve their potential.
- Curriculum Planning & Resource Development – Develop schemes of work and innovative learning materials that meet awarding body requirements and engage diverse learners.
- Progress Monitoring, Assessment & Administration – Track learner progress, maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of administrative tasks to support achievement and compliance.
- Learner Experience, Behaviour & Enrichment – Promote positive behaviour, create inclusive learning environments and enhance student development through enrichment and real‑world opportunities.
- Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance – Contribute to curriculum development, team activities and events while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD responsibilities.
About You
- Qualifications & Teaching Capability – GCSE English and maths with commitment to achieving a recognised teaching qualification (PTTLS), supporting effective delivery of learning.
- Teaching, Learning & Student Support – Ability to provide a high‑quality, learner‑centred experience, creating engaging and inclusive environments that support student success.
- Communication, Organisation & Teamwork – Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, able to meet deadlines, build relationships and contribute positively within a team.
- Professional Values, Inclusion & Safeguarding – Demonstrates commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries and supporting the wellbeing of learners.
- Flexibility, Development & Professional Practice – Positive and adaptable approach, committed to continuous professional development, with flexibility to travel, work varied hours and respond to organisational needs.
