Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Temporary

The Governors of Brook Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, highly motivated and passionate about making a difference and helping to improve the learning opportunities for our children.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team which is ambitious for the success of all, where children have positive attitudes and a love of learning and where staff are valued and well supported by parents and governors. 

Salary: Grade 5 (£20,020 to £21,820.86 actual salary)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks)

Contract: Temporary until 31/08/2027 in the first instance

We are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who:

• Holds an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning
• Has experience supporting pupils within the KS1/EYFScurriculum, including literacy and numeracy
• Is confident working with whole classes, small groups, and individual pupils
• Has experience working with children with additional needs, including those presenting challenging behaviours
• Has First Aid training (or is willing to undertake training)
• Demonstrates strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, alongside effective communication skills
• Has the ability to build positive relationships to support all children in meeting their goals and reaching their full potential
• Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and the overall well-being of all pupils
• Is resilient and passionate about supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of young people
• Is dedicated, creative, reflective, enthusiastic, and highly motivated
• Works effectively as part of a team and actively supports teaching staff to raise standards
• Enjoys working with children and strives for excellence and engagement in learning
• Provides a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication, and time management skills
• Is able towork with autonomy and take on responsibility where required
• Adheres to and supports whole-school policies, practices, and ethos
• Is willing to undertake ongoing professional development and training

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Providing support to pupils to achieve learning goals e.g. leading phonic sessions. 
• Providing support to pupils with additional needs/SEND.
• Assisting the teacher with the planning of learning activities. 
• Assisting in maintaining classroom discipline through the implementation of the school’s behaviour management strategies. 
• Assisting with the day-to-day routines of a classroom including the preparation of resources. 
• Assisting the teacher in monitoring pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed.
