About Martha H School
Located in Wigan, Martha H School provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 16 years old. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will:
Assist the classroom teacher during lessons.Report on pupils’ progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure their needs are met.Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.Set work where appropriate and mark assignments.Build positive relationships with your pupil/s to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.Experience working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes, or School Yoga.Experience in behavior management and techniques.A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to starting work.
