As Production Shift Manager, you will take full ownership of the night shift operation, leading your team to deliver production targets safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.This is a hands on leadership role where you will drive performance, identify inefficiencies and implement improvements across the production process. You will be responsible for building a high performing, multi skilled team while ensuring all products meet customer specifications and food safety standards.Key Responsibilities
Production & Performance
Take full ownership of shift output, ensuring production plans are delivered in full and on timeDrive efficiency across all production processesMonitor and manage KPIs, ensuring targets are achievedIdentify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve performanceTrack downtime and introduce improvements to reduce lossesWork closely with Engineering to ensure all machinery is operating safely and effectivelyTeam Leadership
Lead and manage Supervisors, Team Leaders and OperativesEnsure correct staffing levels are maintained in line with production requirementsDevelop a multi skilled workforce with effective shift coverageConduct daily briefings to communicate priorities and performanceDrive engagement, accountability and a high performance cultureHealth, Safety & Compliance
Ensure a safe working environment for all staffDrive a strong Health and Safety culture across the shiftEnsure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, QMS and food safety standardsGuarantee all products are produced to agreed customer specificationsContinuous Improvement
Identify inefficiencies and implement lean manufacturing improvementsDrive initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiencyWork collaboratively with teams to generate and implement new ideasSupport development and improvement of SOPs alongside the training functionAdministration & Reporting
Complete and review all shift paperwork accuratelyEnsure all production data is recorded and communicated effectivelyReport performance, issues and improvements to senior leadershipPeople Management
Manage performance, disciplinaries and absence where requiredConduct probation reviews, appraisals and return to work interviewsIdentify training needs and support development plansMaintain a motivated, focused and aligned teamAbout You
