Multiple Roles: FULL TIME PART TIME
For over a decade, Little House of Science has been at the forefront of science education for young learners, delivering dynamic, project-based workshops, demonstrations, holiday programmes, and virtual classes to children aged 3 to 14 across London. Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and foster a lifelong passion for science and mathematics from an early age.
Our programmes are rooted in real-world science, drawing from current research and developments across biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, geography and mathematics. We introduce young minds to concepts typically encountered much later in formal education, sparking a deep and lasting interest in STEM.
We are currently seeking engaging, articulate, and academically minded part-time educators and communicators to join our vibrant team. Ideal candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds—science communication, teaching, academia, postgraduate research, performance, or tutoring—but all share one essential quality: a genuine commitment to educating and inspiring the next generation.
About the Role
As a Science Presenter, you will deliver interactive, hands-on workshops in schools and learning venues throughout London. You will bring scientific concepts to life through engaging demonstrations, experiments and storytelling, helping children make meaningful connections to the world around them.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of education, performance, and science communication, in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.
Key Attributes and Requirements
- A demonstrable passion for working with children and promoting STEM education
- A confident, charismatic, and engaging presentation style
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey complex scientific or mathematical concepts in an accessible and entertaining manner
- Strong time management, reliability, and organisational skills
- Creativity in developing fun, age-appropriate activities and experiment tutorials
- Willingness to obtain (or current possession of) an Enhanced DBS check
Desirable (but not essential) Experience
- Experience working with children aged 4–13 in an educational or extracurricular setting
- A background in STEM, mathematics, education, or science communication
- Experience in the performing arts or children’s entertainment
- Flexibility to travel to various schools and venues across London
